Bulk Edit Via the Property Matrix in Unreal Engine

You can easily make changes to multiple assets at the same time by using the Property Matrix window. This can save tons of time and make working with multiple files a treat instead of a nightmare.

First select all of the assets you wish to edit. If you select different asset types, you will only be able to manipulate their common properties, so it works best to choose all assets of the same type to change.

Right click on any one of the assets and go to Asset Actions, Bulk Edit via Property Matrix…

The Property Matrix window will pop up. on the left, all of your selected assets show up with information about each asset. On the right, a series of drop down menus containing properties which can be changed.

If you click on the carrots on the right menu, you can see the different properties which you can change.

To make changes to multiple files, shift+select the files you want to change and make whatever changes you want on the right.

Once you have made a change, you will see a star show up next to the assets you have changed. This shows that a change has been made and the asset now needs to be saved.

Once you are finished making changes, you can close the window. All of your changes will be reflected in each asset!

And that’s it! Use the Property Matrix to save time making changes to multiple files at the same time!
